Fueling future development through collaboration

Real estate is more than buying and selling property. Rising prices and limited housing stock have created a sticky market in Houston. As evidenced by the current market, there are many variables and professionals that impact the availability of housing and commercial options.

In order to stay competitive and poised for fluctuations, our office prioritizes relationships with professionals across the development spectrum. Since its inception, we’ve been a major sponsor for the Lost Spaces conference, Houston’s only small developer conference aimed at emerging minority developers. The Lost Spaces conference is an opportunity to bring together residents and stakeholders to rally around creative approaches to community development through real estate.

The annual conference, just in its second year, amassed over 200 attendees, nearly doubling the first year’s attendance and featured barrier-breaking minority leaders in the development space like Innovan CEO Maggie Parker. Activities like a bike tour of Third Ward, a happy hour featuring Emancipation business owners, City leaders and area nonprofits bridged the gap between engagement, tactical urbanism and cultural preservation.

As the owner and principal planner at Houston’s only minority-led real estate brokerage offering planning services, Jason plays an active role in supporting the Third Ward Real Estate Council; designing the conference to build community among real estate professionals, architects, planners and investors looking for resources, support and guidance along their development journey.

The connections made at the conference result in a more robust experience for our agents and clients in the field. We’re able to create and maintain a support network of thought leaders in the industry and leverage the full extent of that expertise to create transformative outcomes with each transaction.
